    Molluscs
There are around 93,000 recognized extant species and live in a huge range of habitats including marine, freshwater, and terrestrial environments. Molluscs are an important food source for humans but also represent hazards or pests for human activities. Snails and slugs can be serious agricultural pests, and accidental or deliberate introduction of some snail species into new environments has seriously damaged some ecosystems.
